Production capacities

RUE "Gomel Foundry "Tsentrolit" is located on the territory of 38 hectares in the southwestern industrial zone of Gomel (The Republic of Belarus). The structure of the factory includes the following blocks of industrial buildings:

- The building of charge and molding materials with total area of 12 m2.
It has sections of sand and clay drying, reclamation of used sands, storing and dozing of burden materials for furnace charge, as well as hoppers for storing molding materials. The building is adjoined with a mechanized platform for unloading and storing of molding sands. There is also a separately located building of liquid glass founding site 1 700 ì2 by area.

- The total area of the block of basic production shops amounts to 35 700 ì2. This block includes the melting shop with sites of continuous and chill casting, the shops of small and heavy iron casting. The area of the building with fettling and cleaning sites amounts to 26500 m2. This building is connected with aisles of the main production by means of underground communications in order to transfer shaken-out castings. Sites of removing cores from castings, fettling, cleaning, shot blasting, thermal treatment, mechanical treatment, priming and the warehouse of manufactured articles are located in that building.

- The total area of the block of auxiliary shops amounts to 23000 ì2. The block includes service and mechanical shop, nonferrous casting shop, wooden and metal patterns shops and tools shop.

- Heat and power engineering shop with a system of reservoirs for storing reserve fuel.

- Scrap stockyard for crushing steel and iron scrap with total area of 2700 ì2.

- Transportation shop with total area of 1400 ì2. Storehouses of Logistics Department with total area of 4000 ì2. There is a developed railway network on the territory of the enterprise, providing handling up to 30 wagons a day.

- Shop of burden and molding materials. Two drying plants with 53000 tons of total capacity as per dry sand are exploited at the site of drying molding sands. There are silos for storing 13000 tons of dry sand. Drying bentonite is done in a drum dryer with the capacity of 3500 tons per year. The shop includes scrap stockyard equipped with pile-driving plant for breaking iron scrap up to 30000 tons per year and a set of equipment for mechanical and gas cutting of steel scrap up to 10000 tons per year. Four digesters with total capacity of 4000 tons of liquid glass per year are used at the site of boiling liquid glass from impure sodium disilicate. There is also equipment for preparing bentonite, binders, reclamation of used molding sands, preparing and dosing components of burden. The total capacity of bins and bunkers for storing materials amounts to 700 m3. The shop of burden and molding materials has capacities for manufacturing 90000 tons of iron castings by means of cast conversion.

- Melting shop. The amount of melting equipment for manufacturing liquid iron:
Two coke and gas cupolas with the capacity of 1 ton of liquid iron each;
Three induction industrial frequency melting furnaces IChT-10 with the capacity of 10 tons of melt each.
Three induction industrial frequency melting furnaces IChT-6 with the capacity of 6 tons of melt each working in mixing mode.
Melting units are provided with a set power, transport and technological equipment and metallurgical equipment for providing liquid iron manufacture at the amount of 90000 tons of ready castings per year.

- Small iron castings shop. Three automatic molding lines are used at the molding ………
Automatic line of impulse molding for production of castings from 20 up to 100 kg by weight in mold boxes 700x960x300 mm. The used bentonite molding sand is compacted under high specific pressure. The productive capacity of this line with the existing nomenclature of casting - up to 90000 tons of iron castings per year.
Automatic line of flaskless molding with the horizontal parting line FORMATIC is designated for production of castings from 3 up to 40 kg, the dimensions of a lump of sand are 720x720x300.Sand and bentonite foundry sand is compacted under high specific pressure. The productive capacity of this line amounts to 2000 tons of iron castings per year. The core sites of the shop provide for manufacturing of sand cores by means of their setting in a pattern both by heating and plastic self-setting process (PSS-process). On the whole the shop possesses a set of sand making, transport, fettling and cleaning and stripping equipment for treatment of 25000 tons of small iron castings per year.

- Heavy iron castings shop.
The site of heavy casting allows producing castings from 950 up to 15000 kg by weight in molds made by liquid glass sand process with drying the surface of half molds by portable dryers. The maximum dimensions of the flasks are 2500x4500x1000 mm. Cores are produced from sands by CO2-process or PSS-process with the use of phenol-formaldehyde resins. The productive capacity of this site amounts to 4000 tons per year.
The site of impulse molding in flasks 2000x3000x650 mm uses liquid glass molding sands by PSS-process for making castings from 500 up to 5000 kg by weight.
Medium size castings site allows manufacturing castings from 50 up to 1200 kg by weight in flasks with dimensions as 1200x1600x500 mm and 1400x2000x500 mm on molding machines types 234M and 235 M. The mold consists of liquid glass sand facing by PSS-process, it sets at heat drying of half molds surfaces. The filling layer consists of sandy-argillaceous sand. The process of making cores is analogous to that at the site of heavy casting. The productive capacity of this site amounts to 6000 tons of iron castings per year.
On the whole the shop has molds making, cores making, sands making, transporting, mechanical/hydro/electrical shaking-out equipment, sets for emerying castings off, shot blasting chambers, welding equipment and furnaces for thermal treatment by metal cutting tools for rough treatment which allow to manufacture 25000 tons of ready castings per year.
- The consumer goods shop (CG) specializes in manufacturing products from aluminum alloys and plastics. There arte 11 pressure die-casting machines with melting crucibles and 3 thermoplastic automatic machines. The total volume of production of CG from aluminium alloys amounts up to 200 tons per year and from plastic up to 17 tons per year.

- The design center. At a factory there is a design center, own developers who perform works according customers' drawings.

Services of the shop of auxiliary works: mechanical-repair, wood pattern making, tool, power and others provide for the needs of the RUE "Gomel foundry "Tsentrolit" at the level of the designed capacity in 25000 tons of ready castings per year.
