The Republican Unitary Enterprise «Gomel foundry «Tsentrolit» is a specialized enterprize producing cast ware for varoius fields of industry.

The factory was founded iin 1963, the first was made in 1968. At first the factory laquo;Tsentrolit» was in the system of Minstankoprom of the USSR, which included more than ten «Tsetrolit». foundries. Unfortunately,till now all other «Tsentrolit» foundries either have ceased to exist or in connection with a heavy financial position or have begun working as foundry shops and small enterprises. The«$Gomel foundry «Tsentrolit» has managed to keep its productional infrastructure, all foundry technologies.

And if at first the foundry manufactured parts for machine tools,today the enterprise monthly produces up to 5-7 thousand of kinds of goods. And it continues to increase the volumes of production.

Within the last decade RUE «Gomel foundry «Tsentrolit» could have mastered complex castings for mechanical engineering, machine-tool construction, motor industry, transport, communication, etc. Now the factory manufactures castings from 100 gram up to 20 tons by weight and cooperates with 400 enterprises from Belarus and 70 enterprises from Russia, and it also actively cooperates in the European market with companies from France, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia and other countries.

The products of the foundry is certificated according European norms DIN EN 124, and also on conformity of the Quality System requirements of STB ISO 9001 and EN ISO 9001:2000.

Now the production capacities of the foundry allow to manufacture more than 92,000 tons of grey and ductile iron castings a year.The maximum amount of casting production was reached in 1988 and made up 85.5 thousand tons. Then, in 1995 owing to an economic crisis and fall of demand for iron casting the production of it fell down to 7 thousand tons.

Today people younger 30 years constitute about 50% of the employees at the foundry. It allows to say that the enterprise has perspectives and future.
